Re: Important Information About Chococurb

For the past few years, my teammates and I have dedicated ourselves to changing the way people discover and enjoy chocolate. It's been a remarkable journey, but in order for us to scale and grow, we made decisions that in retrospect, haven't enhanced the Chococurb experience.

These decisions included adding international shipping options and introducing Chococurb nano. Though they seemed like terrific ideas at the time, they actually hurt our focus, which in turn deteriorated the experience for our members.

Figuring out the logistics behind global delivery was possible, but the tradeoff was not worthwhile. With a small team, this meant we exchanged the time we could've spent improving everything for our existing members for finding new ones. For that, I apologize.

Speaking of new, we introduced Chococurb nano in response to customers claiming Chococurb was "too expensive." While Chococurb nano satisfied this claim, it came at a high cost. No longer could we offer the personalization that made Chococurb special. In addition, Chococurb became "cheap," when we always offered extraordinary products.

Looking back at these issues, I've realized we need to make some changes and re-dedicate ourselves to everyone who has been or still is a Chococurb member. This starts with discontinuing our international offerings as well as Chococurb nano. We're going back to finding and offering the highest-quality, gourmet, premium chocolate, while improving the Chococurb experience for you.

I am incredibly touched by your support and thank you in advance for your understanding. Let's make 2017 our best year ever and celebrate great chocolate together!

Hi Amanda and Rachel,

Thank you both for asking these questions! I’m sure a lot of other people have the same ones. We are still honoring all existing Chococurb nano as well as international subscriptions and gift subscriptions through their respective commitment periods. This encompasses every order made prior to the announcement.

I have the same question about the international shipments. I’m in Canada and I just bought a 3 month gift subscription yesterday. Wondering if this will be honoured because the purchase was made prior to this announcement or if everything is cancelled.

Hi. So if we are currently subscribed to the Nano what will happen? Will we just be upcharged for the $20/month box? Or is it just automatically stopping? Was December 2016 our last Nano shipment? Disappointed that it is being discontinued, I can’t afford $20/month. Maybe someday!
